Great Valley Youth Lacrosse

1st & 2nd Grade Boys Lacrosse

Registration for the Spring 2021 Season is Closed!

 

Great Valley Youth Lacrosse is available for boys in 1st through 8th grade who reside in the Great Valley School District in Pennsylvania. The boys program participates in the Chester County Lacrosse Association (CCLA) league. 

No prior experience is necessary! Through skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, coaches and volunteers work to create a positive, supportive culture that is passionate about the sport of lacrosse. The program is focused on fostering an encouraging and fun learning environment open to beginners and more experienced lacrosse players. Our goal is to create well-rounded young athletes and teammates, both on and off the field.

SKILLS ASSESSMENTS
Skills assessments are not being held for Grades 1-2.

PRACTICES
 
Friday: March 19, 26 // April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 // May 7, 14, 21
5:30pm – 7:00pm (Daylight Permitting)
Location: Great Valley Middle School (Grass Field #6 or MS Turf)

PLAYDAYS / GAMES
Sunday: March 28 // April 11, 18, 25 // May 2, 9, 16, 23
Times: TBA
Locations: GVMS and surrounding townships

Teams are formed at the 1st and 2nd grade level with an emphasis on developing core lacrosse fundamentals and having fun. Playdays are 6v6 Format, typically 3 games per team each playday. Games are played on a Short field, 2x20 minute halves (running clock) with a 5 minute halftime

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! Great Valley Youth Lacrosse expects that your son is committed to making practices and games. Great Valley Youth Lacrosse is 100% organized and facilitated by volunteers. To be fair to coaches, teammates, and the teams we play against, we expect that by registering, your son(s) is (are) committed to making practices and games. 

COVID-19 Protocols

All players, coaches and spectators will be REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK AT ALL TIMES. All players MUST complete their Health Check via TeamSnap prior to EVERY practice and game. No player will be able to step onto the field if this is not complete. Please help keep our children safe, if your child or a family member is feeling sick in any way please stay home! Be sure to read our COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN before registering.

US Lacrosse Membership

US Lacrosse is the national governing body of men and women's lacrosse in the United States. It provides a leadership role in virtually every aspect of the game and has more than 450,000 members throughout the United States, and offers programs and services to inspire participation while protecting the integrity of the sport.

Membership in US Lacrosse is required to participate in Great Valley Youth Lacrosse. Your membership will be added (or updated) automatically when you checkout at registration. More details about US Lacrosse Membership benefits can be found at www.uslacrosse.org/membership.

Equipment Requirements

The following must be brought to EVERY Practice and Game:

  • Boys lacrosse stick. No Fiddle Sticks
  • Helmet
  • Helmet Shield (Optional)
  • Shoulder pads
  • Arm/Elbow pads
  • Gloves
  • Mouthguard
  • Two (2) COVID-19 masks

Any player who comes to practice or a game without the required lacrosse equipment will not be permitted to play. This is a safety rule and there are no exceptions.

Boys in Grades 1-2 can purchase starter equipment at a discounted rate when they register. Starter kit includes:

  • Brine Clutch Friction pole (Navy/Silver)

Rules and Code of Conduct

Please be sure to read the CCLA Rules for 1st and 2nd grade level play and familiarize yourself with the GVYLA Code of Conduct Form (which will be distributed prior to the first practice of the spring 2021 season). This is required to be completed by both parents and players and submitted to coaches on the first practice of the season.
