Great Valley Youth Lacrosse Association (GVYLA) is available for girls in 1st through 8th grade who reside in the Great Valley School District in Pennsylvania. The girls program participates in the Philadelphia Area Girls Lacrosse Association (PAGLA) league, which takes place in the spring.
No prior experience is necessary! Through skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, coaches and volunteers work to create a positive, supportive culture that is passionate about the sport of lacrosse. The program is focused on fostering an encouraging and fun learning environment open to beginners and more experienced lacrosse players. Our goal is to create well-rounded young female athletes and teammates, on and off the field.
All 3rd and 4th grade players will participate in practices throughout the spring season. There will be two practices each week. The first practice will consist of a "clinic" format, in which the girls rotate through various stations to learn and improve upon fundamental skills, such as cradling, ground balls, passing, catching, shooting, and defense. The second practice will focus on team play and consist of scrimmages. Games will be played on Saturdays and will be played against other townships within the PAGLA league.
